Yo miro un perro alla, pero me gusta ese mas. (Yes, "ese" is a pronoun). I see a dog over there, but I like that one more. (What is "esa"? Do you mean that one (other dog) more? If you meant to say that you like another dog more, remember that dog is masculine, so you would say "ese". )
