There are many different shifts that happen in a demand curve. Population changes are a couple factors that can change a demand curve. For example, an increase of Asian immigrants may raise the demand for rice. Another important factor are consumer incomes changes. As incomes increases, more people are willing to buy more items to satisfy their needs. Their are many more factors to consider when it comes to the demand curve. Which is why the economy is constantly changing. But the invisible hand always guides the economy so that it is in equilibrium.
